Traffic on both sides at standstill; pepper spray can in car explodes
A semi-truck rear-ended on northbound Highway 99 barreled through the center divider and into southbound lanes Thursday afternoon, backing up traffic in both directions for miles.
A woman driving a Honda lost control of her car and went off the roadway shortly before 1 p.m., according to the CHP. She overcorrected and struck the back of the semi-truck, causing both vehicles to lose control and spin in moderate traffic.
The impact caused the back wheels of the semi-truck to lock up.
