The Madera County Mosquito and Vector Control District has announced it will start taking applications for seasonal mosquito control operator positions on March 13. Applications will be accepted until April 1 at the district office, 3105 Airport Dr.
A driving record from the California Department of Motor Vehicles will be required, along with a completed application to be filled out at the district office during its business hours, which are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
Those who apply should be able and willing to work outdoors during the summer for five to eight hours, lift at least 30 pounds and pass a test, which requires knowledge of high school level math. The job requires work with pesticides and workers to be clean shaven because respirators are used. Work hours are usually from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience...
