Agency announces its new board
Applications for six $1,500 college scholarships are available at all local high schools. The aid is for “academically deserving students” in Madera County with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plans for higher education, said scholarship coordinator Alicia Chavez of Central Valley Opportunity Center.
The competitive scholarships have been offered by the nonprofit social service agency for more than 35 years.
Interested students should contact their high school counselor or contact Chavez at firstname.lastname@example.org or (209) 357-0062, ext. 123. The scholarship application may also be downloaded by visiting CVOC’s website at www.cvoc.org. Application deadline is April 4.
