Madera Unified School District will host the third annual Central Valley Regional Robotics Competition on March 7-9. The robotics contest, one of the largest in the United States, will be at the Madera South High West Gymnasium, Avenue 13 and Stadium Road.

It will be free and open to the public. The schedule is as follows.

Friday, March 7

  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. practice machines.
  • 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. VIP business luncheon with FIRST president Don Bossi.

Saturday, March 8

  • 8:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. opening ceremonies
  • 9 a.m. --12 p.m. qualification matches
  • 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. VIP tours
  • 1 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. qualification matches
  • 5:45 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. awards ceremony

Sunday, March 9

  • 8:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. opening ceremonies
  • 9 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. qualification matches
  • 10 a.m. 12 p.m. VIP tours
  • 12:15 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. alliance selections
  • 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. final rounds
  • 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. awards ceremony
