A royal affair: 300 attend Old Timers coronation

Madera’s Courthouse Park once again became regal territory as 300 gathered to celebrate the coronation of the 2012 Old Timers Day king and queen.

Her Majesty Lorraine Ocheltree and His Majesty Bill Wood were invested with their royal regalia and took their place as the reigning old timers’ monarchs on Sunday.

Present for the transfer of sovereignty were last year’s king, Doug Sordi, and his court, Elly Row, Brooke Wissler and Maxine Yocum. Queen Charlotte Lesan was unable to attend.

The coronation was preceded by the serving of culinary delights prepared by volunteers from the society, many of whom were part of a closely-knit group from the Madera High School class of 1964...
