During its Wednesday morning meeting at the Madera Municipal Golf Course, the Madera Sunrise Rotary Club honored Dominique Tzou as Student of the Month — the final award for the school year.

At the presentation Tzou, a sixth grader at John Adams School, was accompanied by her parents Dick Tzou and Anna Tzou, one of her teachers, Christina Riché and John Adams principal Melissa Murray. Making the presentation were Rotary member and James Monroe vice-principal, Kimberly Bitter and club president Marshall Bishop.

Tzou is a straight-A student, plays the violin and is in band class. She is also an All-Star and plays on the school’s volleyball and soccer teams. According to her teachers, even in fifth grade she was the top student in three subjects, math, science, and language arts. Tzou scored a perfect 600 on her California Scholastic Tests (CST’s) in both math and science.
