Rookie gets education in business

A self-proclaimed retail rookie, Vincent Ochinero is working hard to build up his business, although it may not be what a former Madera Coyote baseball player would have picked out.

Ochinero, who graduated in 2006 from Madera High and played on the baseball team, went from working for the family business —Monte Pistoresi of Pistoresi Ambulance is his grandfather — to electrical work and finally to owning a women’s boutique.

Originally, Ochinero wanted to open a men’s and women’s boutique, but after finding out that acquiring men’s clothing was a little tougher than he thought, he settled into a women’s boutique.

“The men’s didn’t work out the way I wanted it to,” he said. “I wanted certain brands and they were hard to get. I wanted to do something and it seemed like the easiest to do. I don’t have a reason why I wanted to sell clothes. I just did it.” ...
