An admitted gang member wanted in connection with an armed robbery has turned himself in.
Adrian Avina, 18, of Madera, is suspected of holding a Valero gas station clerk at gunpoint for a pack of cigarettes.
The incident took place at the gas station on Road 26 early Sunday. Madera County Sheriff’s deputies were advised that the suspect asked for a pack of cigarettes, but was unable to furnish identification. That’s when he reportedly pulled out a weapon.
Avina turned himself in hours later to authorities near Ellis and Austin streets...
