A section of Road 29 in Madera County will be closed for more than two months as crews work on the State Route 99 Avenue 12 Interchange Improvement Project, Caltrans announced this week.
Road 29 from Avenue 12 to Avenue 13 will be closed from Oct. 30 to Jan. 2 while Caltrans and Security Paving, Inc. crews construct irrigation pipelines and culverts across it. Crews will also work to complete the new realignment of Road 29 with its new connection to Avenue 12, just east of SR 99.
To detour, westbound motorists on Avenue 12 are advised to proceed to State Route 145/Road 27, turn right, and continue and turn right onto East Pecan/Avenue 13, then continue eastbound toward Road 29. Eastbound motorists on Avenue 12 should turn left onto State Route 145/Road 27, continue and turn right onto East Pecan/ Avenue 13, then continue eastbound toward Road 29.
The public is asked to “Slow for the Cone Zone” and drive with extra care through construction areas.
