The annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast to coincide with National Day of Prayer observances is planned for 7 a.m. May 3 in Hatfield Hall at the Madera District Fairgrounds.
The event will feature a brief presentation by Mayor Brett Frazier followed by this year’s keynote speaker, retired teacher and school administrator Gary Beene. Tickets to the breakfast are $12.50 and available at the Chamber of Commerce office, 120 N. E St.
Beene graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s in public administration from California State University, Fresno. After 35 years of teaching and school administration, he retired in 2008.
