A man who served on the Madera Rescue Mission’s board of directors for nearly a decade has stepped down. Steve Williams, who joined the ship at a time he said it was sailing through murky waters, says he is happy with what has been accomplished since.
“I’ve served with some great people on the board. There’s no way I did this alone. I was... working with some great men and women that really deserve recognition as well,” said Williams.
But those members beat him to it as Keith Carns, the chair of the board, presented him with a plaque on Dec. 20, recognizing him for eight years of service.
