The Madera Relay For Life will kickoff Tuesday with a Madera Chamber of Commerce mixer hosted by Central Valley Community Bank, 1919 Howard Road.

The official Relay for Life mixer will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and feature food and prizes as well as information on the annual volunteer-driven fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

To be raffled are dozens of prizes with many of them created and donated by individuals, businesses and Relay teams and members. A buffet will be provided by Madera Community Hospital Catering and no host refreshments will be available from the Chamber of Commerce. Computers will be available to register teams of volunteers quickly.

In previous years over 50 teams have participated in the 24-hour event, which includes sponsored walking, inspirational speakers, games, activities, entertainment and memorial “Luminaria” lights. Participants come from families, churches, schools, businesses, organizations, agencies, and service clubs...
