The annual Summer Kids Camp sponsored by the Madera Parks and Community Services Department will begin the first of nine one-week sessions on June 11 at the John W. Wells Youth Center, 701 E. 5th St.

This is the eighth year of the program for youth in grades kindergarten through sixth. The cost is $60 for the first child, $55 for the second, and $50 for each additional child. Junior counselors in grades seven through nine are $50.

Parents may register their children at the youth center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A $5 late fee will be charged to sign up the first day of camp.

Each camp includes games, physical activities, arts and crafts, socializing and a field trip. Lunch is also provided by the Madera Unified School District’s seamless summer feeding program...
