The 21st annual Raymond Parade committee has chosen longtime residents John and Linda Crippen as this year’s Grand Marshals. The couple met in Oakhurst, and in an unusual circumstance, divorced, remarried in their backyard in Raymond, and have been active in the community ever since.
This year’s Parade and Family Fun Day is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, with the parade beginning at 1 p.m.
The day’s activities include booths with refreshments, crafts and granite items from the famous quarry. The museum will also be open and a swap meet will offer unusual crafts and items from mountain artists.
