This is the final week of public swim at Centennial Pool next to the John W. Wells Youth Center, 701 E. 5th St. The pool will remain open for public swim Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 11, 18 and 25. Private swim lessons are also being offered. Call the parks office, 661-5495, for information and times.

Two bus trips are planned to benefit the Adult Day Care Center that provides programming for our frail senior citizens and those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The first is Aug. 16, and what a treat. A stop at Hilmar Cheese Co. for a tour and cheese tasting and then onto Jackson Rancheria Casino.

The second is Sept. 9-11 with three days and two nights at the beautiful Edgewater Hotel & Casino in Laughlin, Nev. To make a reservation or for more information on both trips, call Corinne at 675- 3119.

Signups for the next cheer and dance class begin today. It is open to youth ages 4-12 and will be held Tuesdays at the John W. Wells Youth Center. Class for the 4- to 6-year-olds is from 5:15 to 6:15 and for the 7- to 12-year-olds 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Cost is $40 per child. Call the parks office for more information...
