Raffle promotes funds for muscular dystrophy camp

In an effort to raise much needed funds for The Justin Woods Foundation 2014 Muscular Dystrophy (MD) Camp, a 2013 Cam-Am Spyder RS-S, a 3-wheeled motorcycle, is being raffled. Non-bikers can opt for a $10,000 cash prize.

Raffle tickets for the motorcycle or cash are available for $10 each from Sandy Smith at 395-6341. The drawing will be held Sept. 5. Ticket holders need not be present to win.

If successful, the fundraising effort will allow young adults, age 18 and over, stricken with MD to attend a five-day camp at Tuolumne Trails near Groveland, just west of Yosemite National Park. This will be the fourth year for the camp, founded because the area muscular dystrophy camp only serves youth ages five to 17.

According to organizer Sandy Smith, the campers made close friends in the camp for young people, but after turning 18 did not have anywhere to go...
