Local quilters exhibited two years worth of work over the weekend in a show that drew hundreds of people to Hatfield Hall on the Madera District Fairgrounds.
The 2013 Quilt Show “Quilts from our Hearts” was organized by the Heart of California Quilters Guild. The event is done every two years and serves as a way for guild members to show their work to other quilters and the public, said event chair Aurora Pecarovich.
Organizers said the opening day of this year’s quilt show on Saturday drew between 200 to 300 people. A variety of arts and crafts vendors sold their goods in booths decorated by the quiltwork of guild members. At least 140 quilts from 85 members were shown and the work of Juanita Blumberg and Wanda Beck was highlighted.
