Unsecured property tax bills were mailed Friday, according to information from the Madera County tax collector’s office.

Normally these bills would be due Aug. 31, but this year, due to the 31st falling on a Saturday and the next business day being the Labor Day holiday, taxpayers have until Sept. 3 to get their payments in, the news release said.

Unsecured tax bills are for assessments on businesses, boats, airplanes or any possessory interests you may have, the news release said. No unsecured tax bills for less than $50 will be printed due to the Low Value Exemption Ordinance, meaning personal property taxed less than $50 will not generate a tax bill.
