Students and their parents learned from teachers, counselors and others about education after high school on Saturday.
About 120 students in grades 7 through 12 from Madera South High School, Madera High School and three district middle schools attended 11 workshops in three sessions throughout the day at Madera South. Both high schools sponsored the third annual “Success is in Your Hands” college awareness conference.
The topics covered were chosen by conference participants last fall and included career information, how to get into college and pay for it, healthy versus unhealthy relationships, undocumented student support, first-generation services and migrant resources.
