Pot plants, meth found in local homes

Around 1,000 marijuana plants, a small amount of methamphetamine and two weapons were seized by authorities in three Chowchilla cul-de-sac homes Wednesday.

Ascencion Chagollan, 35, and Luis Angel Rojas, 23, were booked into jail as part of the operation, which took about five hours to pull and destroy the plants.

Four government agencies teamed up in the operation, which included: agents from the Madera County Narcotics Enforcement Team (MADNET); Madera County Sheriff’s deputies; Madera SWAT team personnel; and Madera County Code Enforcement members.
