‘Dangerous’ lab found inside

A marijuana-processing lab similar to one that caused an explosion at a Fresno apartment complex earlier this week was found inside a Madera County house Thursday, and authorities said it is the most sophisticated such operation seen in the Valley to date.

Madera County Sheriff’s spokesperson Erica Stuart said that narcotics enforcement agents seized 181 marijuana plants and nearly 100 grams of butane honey oil (BHO) — a product with highly-concentrated amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC — from the house near Arizona and Tuolumne avenues.

Two men were arrested at the property, one a convicted felon and the other a Mexican citizen.

Avila Hernandez, 25, could face deportation for felony drug charges and Mark Cravatt, 47, was booked for possession of a firearm by a felon when he was found living in a trailer near the house...
