An employee at the Togo’s sandwich shop on Cleveland Avenue remained behind bars Monday for felony burglary charges after police said he broke into the restaurant and stole around $800.
Luis Lopez Sosa, 32, allegedly forced open the doors of the shop as well as its cash registers early Saturday morning before making off with the cash, Sgt. Brian Esteves of the Madera Police Department said.
Although Sosa covered his face with a mask and a hooded sweatshirt, Esteves said fellow employees at the Togo’s restaurant immediately recognized his “distinct mannerisms” when shown surveillance video of the robbery.
A search of Sosa’s home found the stolen money as well as the pry bar he allegedly used to break in to the store, Esteves said...
