Police seek van in teen’s murder

Authorities believe a farm labor van was used in the Sept. 3 drive-by shooting death of 17-year-old Jorge Navarro, Sheriff John Anderson announced Thursday.

Anderson released surveillance photos of the van, which appears to be silver or gray, in hopes that the public can help identify it and solve the murder case.

About 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 3, deputies were called to Road 27 near Martin Street where Navarro lay dead on the roadside. A nearby surveillance video captured an image of the gray farm labor van, Sheriff’s spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.

Detectives say there were at least two people inside the van — the driver and a shooter...
