Police to host town hall forums

The Madera Police Department plans to host five town hall meetings for the public throughout Madera this month. Police Chief Steve Frazier, Commander Dino Lawson and Neighborhood Watch program organizers are to speak about available services.

“We do encourage everybody to come out and ask questions and get involved,” said Soledad Fernandez, assistant to the police chief.

Frazier will run the meetings, but there will be translation services for Spanish-only speakers, police said.

Topics to be discussed include the annual report, crime reports, the Neighborhood Watch program, the Next Door program and the Nixle program. The community programs help residents to become involved in the areas they live in...
