Round Table Pizza received the Crystal Tower Award on Wednesday at the 10th annual Business and Education Shareholders’ Luncheon. The pizza parlor was recognized for its partnerships with Madera County schools.
Accepting the award in front of more than 150 business and community leaders were restaurant owners Bill and Brenda Dawson. The pizzeria was nominated by Kristi Castillo, Alan Hollman and Shane Riddle from Madera High School.
Round Table Pizza has been involved with Madera County’s schools since 1985. Bill Dawson was instrumental in establishing the Foundation for Athletic Needs organization to help raise money for Madera High and Madera South High Schools’ athletic programs, according to Kristi Winter of the Madera County Office of Education. Each year Dawson organizes an awards banquet for outstanding athletes.
In addition to his support of athletics, Dawson provides pizza and contributes to the Madera High Robotics team. He acts as an advisor to the Madera High School of Human Services to discuss current trends and experience in restaurant management...
