In 1959, Pete and Flora Minnetti had an idea to offer the adults and youth of Madera everything needed for active men, women, boys and girls. Their original store is still known today as Pete’s Sport Shop and remains at the same location, 124 South C Street.
In 1979, their daughter, Rochelle Noblett took over the business, expanding it to include graphic design, ad specialties, screen printing and embroidery.
“The only change is that we no longer stock retail merchandise and instead put our focus toward special orders,” said Noblett.
Nancy Martinez, who started working at Pete’s in 1984, still handles the orders from schools, recreation departments and sports oriented organizations.
