Pedestrian dies in accident

A morning walk on a sunny day turned deadly Thursday for a 71-year-old resident of the Country Club subdivision in north Madera, according to The California Highway Patrol.

Shiu Fan Wong was struck while walking alone about 7:45 a.m. on Farallon Road near Varden Drive and died at the scene, according to CHP Sgt. Lincoln McKenna.

The roadway conditions were dry and clear at the time of the fatal incident, the CHP said.

“The collision involved the woman, and a silver F150 Ford pickup truck. The driver of the truck was a 32-year-old man and he immediately stopped,” McKenna said...

I have lived in the area for about one year. In the time that I have been here I have witnessed cars driving way to fast. I would really like to see speed bumps to slow cars down., for the saftey of pedestrians and our kids.
