Entries still are being sought for the downtown Madera Candlelight Christmas Parade, scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 5 — a week after Thanksgiving Day.

Entries can be any kind of farm or farm-related equipment — for example, lots of trucks usually wind up in the parade. They must, however, be decorated with Christmas lights — no fewer than 100 per vehicle. Small entries, such as ATVs and even bicycles and tricycles, must be lighted, too, with at least 30 working lights.

The parade’s contact person is Sharon Creamer of the Madera Kiwanis Club, 497-1513.

Entries are expected to be staged by 5:15 p.m., and sponsors of entries are to provide a short script describing the entry to be read by the parade announcer as the entries go by the judging stand...
