Pacific Crest returns to wine trail

After a few years hiatus, Pacific Crest Vineyard and Wine Co. in Madera is opening a new tasting room and hopes to be ready to participate in the Madera Wine Trial in November.

“They’ve been an operating winery for several years, but with the opening of their new tasting room we’ll be glad to have them back,” said Wendy Eachus, executive administrator of the Madera Vintners Association, which runs the Madera Wine Trail.

Martin Nonini, owner of Pacific Crest since 1998, passed the winery down to his daughter, Lauren Nonini, about a year ago. She has been working for about six months on revamping the company.

“We had a tasting room there before that was just a small room with a bar, but now we’re going to have it out in the barn where the wine is stored,” Lauren Nonini said. “We’re opening it up by taking some shelves out and putting tables in. We are hoping to have most of it done or ready to go for the November wine trail.” ...
