The county board of supervisors approved Tuesday a leadership training program designed to strengthen families, promote optimal child development and reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. The Madera County Department of Social Services petitioned the board to host the program locally.
“Our approach starts with the belief that we are all leaders and can create even more change when connected with one another,” said Elizabeth Inman, and administrative analyst and foster parent liaison for the department.
An orientation for the program will be given by Parent Services Project program manager Katie Kuhl on Monday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Department of Social Services, 700 E. Yosemite Ave. in Conference Room 1. Free materials, childcare, food and other incentives will be offered, Inman said.
To enroll, call Inman at 675-7841, or Kuhl, (415) 454-1870, ext. 108 or e-mail her at kkuhl (at) parentservices.org...
