Trash puns were in abundance Thursday afternoon as a small group of city officials and business owners celebrated the installment of six new garbage bins in downtown Madera.
“Those cans certainly don’t look like garbage, do they,” laughed Ron Prestridge, Madera’s solid waste and recycling manager. “They look very nice and are a welcome change.”
The six cans line Yosemite Avenue in the same spots where the old, dilapidated cement containers described by officials once stood.
