Office of Education lays cornerstone

The cornerstone of the newly opened Dr. Sally L. Frazier Instructional Support and Conference Center was laid this past weekend along with encapsulated annual reports, videos, photos and newsletters from the Madera County Office of Education.

Members of the Masons of California conducted the ceremony before about 80 people, including staff who work there and visiting educators. The local post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion chapter also took part in the Friday event by presenting the colors and leading the audience in the flag salute.

Madera County Superintendent of Schools Cecilia Massetti recognized her staff and those who played a key role in moving MCOE’s equipment and supplies from three previously rented buildings to the new location.

The cornerstone ceremony came more than two weeks after the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the building and almost two months after MCOE staff moved in...
