Maderans live full life
The room was full of red and gold memorabilia from decades of games played in the Bay Area, all over the USA, and even around the world. There were photographs, autographs, and autographed photographs, authentic jerseys, figures, small and large, of players, and a dozen scrapbooks all about and from the San Francisco 49ers pro-football team.
The room belongs to a Madera collector, who has been a fan of the team since its beginning as a member of the All-American Football Conference in 1946, before joining the National Football League in 1949. The collection dates back to the days of Kezar Stadium and the early games at Candlestick Park.
Earl Fox and his wife Phyllis have traveled by bus, plane, and motor home to nearly every 49ers game both home and away. That includes exhibition games the team played in Osaka, Japan, in 2004 and at London in 2010. They have been in the stadiums to witness 15 different Super Bowls.
