A North Fork man was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of murdering his brother, who reportedly disappeared from their shared home two weeks ago.

Marc McMurrain Jr., 35, was taken into custody by a Madera County Sheriff’s detective late Thursday night in connection to the disappearance of his brother Christopher Lee Garrity from a home on Willow Creek Drive.

On Friday morning, detectives and a team of K9 search and rescue operatives searched the home and a neighboring one, where they discovered decomposed human remains.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Erica Stuart said that the remains were decomposed beyond recognition and that she could not divulge further details in an ongoing investigation...
