The second lane of north and southbound traffic on State Route 99 will be closed nightly from Monday through Friday between the Gateway Avenue and Ellis Street overcrossings, the state announced Friday.

Ramp closures occur for the safety of construction workers. Portable changeable message signs, ramp closure signage and detours will be in place as needed. Motorists may experience 20-minute traffic delays due to congestion, according to Caltrans, and alternate routes are encouraged.

TheMadera 99 Rehabilitation Design-Build Project is expected to be finished in December, which is a year ahead of schedule. The project will rebuild concrete and asphalt concrete roadway, medians, and shoulders along sections of SR 99 totaling about 3.6 miles.

Caltrans and Granite Construction Company are in stage four of planned roadway work for the highway this week...
