Former County Supervisor Harry Baker surrenders to Fresno police

Oakhurst businessman and former Madera County Supervisor Harry Baker, 81, has turned himself over to the Fresno Police Department to face charges of child molestation.

Baker, who was a county supervisor for three terms, is president of Sierra Telephone, which provides phone and Internet services to Oakhurst, Mariposa, Raymond and other Sierra foothills neighborhoods. The company also sells telephone equipment and installation services throughout the region.

Baker has been the recipient of many professional and civic honors over the years.

One of his colleagues reacted with shock on hearing of the charges against Baker.
