Two people have been jailed and six children remain with Child Protective Service after authorities found 10,176 marijuana plants growing inside a cornfield north of Madera Lakes, just south of Raymond.
Agents with Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team pulled the plants obscured by rows of corn, between eight and 20 feet tall, in a field off of Olympia and Avenue 21.
Only a month ago, county deputies found marijuana growing in another corn field, near Olympia and Avenue 20.
Agents also seized 1 1/2 pounds of processed marijuana, packaging materials, other related evidence in the Aug. 6 raid, as well as a loaded sawed-off rifle.
