The Chowchilla Family Express has begun rolling again after budget constraints shut the family travel service down last May.

On Sunday, two buses carrying the family and friends of women prisoners stopped in Madera for a warm breakfast and a good stretch before continuing to one of two Chowchilla prisons.

Visitors were warmly received at the Elks Club by members of a host agency, Grandmothers of the Light, who provided food, pillows, lap blankets and travel activities for children.
