A 27-year-old man from Fish Camp was killed Thursday on State Route 41 when his car collided with two other cars and then went over the embankment.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deceased man, whose name was not released pending notification of family, was driving his Honda Civic north at an undetermined speed when he allowed his car to drift to the left into the south lane. Timo Nowacki, 50, of Germany was southbound in a Toyota Highlander and driving behind him in a Toyota pickup was Christine Wilhite, 58, of Ahwahnee.
The CHP reported that the Honda first collided into the front of Nowacki's SUV, then Wihite's pickup collided head on into the Honda. The Honda then traveled over the eastern downward embankment and the SUV traveled over the western downward embankment. Wilhite's pickup remained on the highway blocking the southbound lane.
Wilhite received minor injuries but was not hospitalized. Nowacki was not injured. The deceased man was taken to Smith Manor in Madera.
