The city of Madera Parks and Community Services Department will begin hosting workshops on healthier living and managing chronic conditions every Friday through Nov. 21.
Kaiser Permanente will present the free sessions at 1 p.m. at the Pan-American Community Center, 703 Sherwood Avenue. Each participant will receive a book and audiotape.
The workshops will feature guidance and learning from peers and leaders who also have health conditions.
During the six-week program participants will learn how to fight fatigue and frustration, communicate better with a health care team, manage stress, deal with depression, develop an exercise program, set goals and solve problems to make positive life changes.
