A new nondenominational church is set to host its first fund-raiser to help pay for a building and other church activities.
The six-month-old Gates of Grace Church of God will stage a fall festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Central Avenue and Gateway Drive.
The event will include about 25 vendors selling arts, crafts and food.
“There are people selling handmade soaps, lotions, jewelry, jams,” said Annette Castro, activities coordinator. “There’s one vendor that’s selling different baby items and another one who engraves on granite and glass. I have the normal bows and tutus. There’ll be people who are selling tri-tip, nachos and hot dogs. Our church is doing salsa and chips.” ...
