Madera Community Hospital’s chief dietician, honored for her achievements, tries to make a difference with work
The managing dietician at Madera Community Hospital received a prestigious state award last month at the annual California Dietetic Association Awards.
Carrie Der Garabedian, MBA, RD, was given the Carol Hayes Torio Excellence in Management Award for her work as an administrative dietician for the last 31 years.
“I have to give a lot of credit to the Central Valley District of the California Dietetic Association,” Der Garabedian said. “When I accepted the award I accepted it on their behalf also, and that of my staff (at MCH).”
Der Garabedian has worked for 11 years as the Nutrition Resources Director at Madera Community Hospital, where she is responsible for managing two departments with a combined budget of more than $2.5 million.
