Neighbors who live around the intersections of West Park Drive, Claremont Drive and Schnoor Avenue gathered Sunday afternoon for a Neighborhood Watch block party, sponsored by the City of Madera.

About 30 sat in the shade under large trees on a median on Park Drive and heard firefighters, police and neighborhood revitalization experts talk about keeping neighborhoods and the people who live in them safe.

The formation of a formal Neighborhood Watch program was discussed.
