Nearly 3,000 pot plants seized in Raymond

Three Fresno men were arrested on suspicion of growing marijuana on Wednesday after authorities found nearly 3,000 plants off Road 600 in Raymond, Madera County Sheriff John Anderson said.

The three men — Tom Techakaew, 56, 39-year-old Khamro Vongphachanh, and 34-year-old Michael Vongphachanh — were arrested just after 6 a.m. at a home they were renting.

A Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team investigation led DEA agents, Anderson and sheriff’s deputies to two homes off Road 600.

Agents seized the pot plants, two shipping boxes loaded with processed marijuana and two rifles. Fish and Game was also called to the first home after agents discovered a dead bobcat hanging from a patio rafter...
