Madera Unified School District is planning to spend $140.5 million during the 2012-2013 school year, and of that amount, $4.7 million will go to the district’s management staff, according to information released by the district Tuesday.

The top five administrative jobs will cost the district $685,603. Superintendent Gustavo Balderas will earn $165,000; Deputy Superintendent Anthony Monreal, Ed.D., $140,200; Associate Superintendent for Educational Services Deborah Wood, $128,765; Associate Superintendent for Business and Operations Kelly Porterfield, $127,937; and Chief Academic Officer Robert Chavez, $123,701.

Fourteen directors of various departments will earn a total of $1,380,571. They are as follows:

  • Director of human relations, $109,095.
  • Director of child care program, $95,514.
  • Director of curriculum/instruction/assessment, $113,133...
