MUSD may hire private investigator

Madera Unified School District’s school board will hold a special meeting today to consider hiring an investigator to look into allegations of impropriety made by Trustee Lynn Cogdill against board president Ricardo Arredondo.

According to the posted agenda, private investigator Pete Chavez is being considered for the job.

Chavez is retired from the Fresno County District Attorney’s office, according to the Reedley Exponent. Chavez also has extensive experience in law enforcement, which began with the Parlier Police Department.

In 1980, he was hired by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office where he was a homicide investigator for seven years...
