Murder sights shown in Gran trial

MODESTO — A jury to determine the fate of a Madera murder suspect got its first look at a gruesome close-up photo of his alleged victim Wednesday inside Stanislaus County Superior Court.

Dustin Gran, 25, is accused of killing 18-year-old Krista Pike in January of 2008 as an act of revenge allegedly ordered by Brittany Navarra, 22, then 16 years old and spurned romantically by Pike’s fiance.

Both trials were moved to Stanislaus County after attorneys proved Madera-area jurors could be biased against the suspects.

Navarra could go before a jury by May to face similar charges as Gran — who has pled not guilty by way of insanity — in Pike’s death...
