The first in an annual series of movies in Lions Town and Country Park, the Disney Animation Studios film “Frozen,” is set for Friday at the Allen Harkins’ Amphitheater.
The series features popular films on a huge screen.
Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs, blankets or just sit on the cool grass. The movie begins at dusk and a concession booth will be open to sell food and cold refreshments. No alcohol or pets are permitted. Parking is available at the Howard Road lot, near Mainberry Drive, directly across from the amphitheater.
The Movies in the Park are sponsored by Pacific Gas and Electric and hosted by the Madera Parks and Community Services Department. They will continue every Friday evening starting at dusk with the following schedule: “Despicable Me 2” (July 18), “Iron Man 3” (July 25), “Back to the Future” (Aug. 1), “The Nut Job” (Aug. 8), “The Lego Movie” (Aug. 15), “Monsters University” (Aug. 22) and “Planes” (Aug. 29).
