Movies Madera will receive the Crystal Tower Award at the ninth annual Business and Education Shareholders’ Luncheon starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The event is sponsored by the Madera County Compact. The Crystal Tower Award is given to businesses that have displayed exemplary partnerships with schools in Madera County.
Bobby Gran, owner of Movies Madera, and also chair of the City of Madera Planning Commission, was nominated by Ozzy De Luna, director of curriculum and instruction for the Madera County Office of Education.
For the past five years, Gran has donated Movies Madera and employee time, and personally assisted with the Madera County Academic Decathlon Lecture Day. Nearly 500 students from throughout California come each year to listen to lectures on specific Decathlon topics...
