A 33-year-old man was seriously injured after being thrown from his motorcycle in a collision with a car on Road 26 at Vine Road in north Madera, according to The California Highway Patrol.

The man’s name is not being released. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

Officers said the Madera man was driving his yellow Suzuki motorcycle south on Road 26 at 55 mph Monday afternoon about 4:30 when a woman in a northbound Toyota made a left turn on to Vine Road, directly in front of the moving motorcycle.

“The motorcycle struck the front of the Toyota, and launched the man about 50 feet south into the ditch,” an officer said. “Witnesses reported seeing him go about 30 feet in the air, and then end over end. He suffered two broken legs, and probably a broken pelvis and other internal injuries from the impact. Had he been ejected onto the pavement, he would have not likely survived the impact.”...
